US Immigration Arrests Nigerian Man Convicted of R@pe in Maryland


The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has taken into custody a Nigerian national, Theophilis Anwana, who was previously convicted of second-degree r@pe in Baltimore, Maryland.


ICE’s Baltimore field office confirmed the arrest in a statement issued on Saturday, August 30, 2025. According to the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, Anwana had been sentenced to 20 years in prison in Bel Air and has been under a final deportation order since September 2021.


“Another d@ngerous crim+nal illegal alien is in custody thanks to the hard work of ICE @EROBaltimore officers,” the agency stated.


Anwana was arrested on August 29 and will remain in ICE detention pending his removal.
