2Baba, whose real name is Innocent Ujah Idibia, is a renowned Nigerian singer, songwriter, record producer, and entrepreneur. Born on September 18, 1975, in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria, he hails from the Idoma ethnic group in Benue State.

Early Life and Education

2Baba attended Mount Saint Gabriel Secondary School in Makurdi and later studied Business Administration at the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) in Enugu State. However, he dropped out of school to pursue a career in music.

Music Career

2Baba's music journey began in the late 1990s, performing at shows and parties. He later formed the Plantashun Boiz with his friends Blackface and Faze. The group released two albums, "Body and Soul" (2000) and "Sold Out" (2003), before disbanding in 2004.

As a solo artist, 2Baba released his debut album "Face 2 Face" in 2004, which was a massive success. However, it was his hit single "African Queen" that catapulted him to national fame and helped establish him as a household name. The song's success marked a turning point in his career, setting him apart from his Plantashun Boiz days and cementing his status as a solo artist.

He went on to release several more albums, including "Grass 2 Grace" (2006), "The Unstoppable" (2009), and "The Ascension" (2014).

Throughout his career, 2Baba has won numerous awards, including the MTV Europe Music Award for Best African Act (2005), multiple Headies Awards, and a BET Award. He has also been honored with a honorary Master of Arts in Music degree from Igbinedion University (2016) and was inducted into the Music Legends Hall of Fame in Ghana (2022).

Personal Life

2Baba married Nigerian actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia in 2013. The couple has two daughters together, Isabella and Olivia. However, 2Baba has five other children from previous relationships, including three kids with his baby mama, Pero Adeniyi.
