A magistrate court in Hadejia Jigawa state has ordered the arrest and detention of Mr Ifeanyi Festus a DSS officer for unlawfully detaining , impregnating and converting a 16 year old girl from Islam to Christianity. The court directed the Commissioner of police to arrest Ifeanyi. The case followed a petition by a group of lawyers under Gamji Law chain acting on behalf of the 16 year old girl Walida. The petition alleged that officer Ifeanyi abducted Walida two years ago sexually exploited her and forced her conversion from Islam to Christianity without parental consent. The petition also said she gave birth while underage. They accused other DSS officials of complicity.
