NDLEA Arrests Indian Woman with 11kg of Hero+n Disguised as Chocolates at Kano Airport
Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have apprehended a 42-year-old Indian national, Ms. Neetu Neetu, at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) in Kano for attempting to smuggle 11 kilograms of hero+n into Nigeria.
The illicit substance, factory-sealed in wafer wraps and deceptively packaged as chocolates, was uncovered during a thorough search of her luggage following credible intelligence.
Neetu was arrested on Friday, March 14, 2025, during the inward clearance of Qatar Airways flight QR1431 from Bangkok, Thailand, via Vietnam and Doha.
Reacting to the arrest, NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), pointed out the increasing trend of dr·g traff+cking networks recruiting foreign nationals, particularly white women, to smeggle narcotics into Nigeria.
He emphasized that NDLEA operatives remain highly vigilant, utilizing modern technology and proactive intelligence to counter such sm·ggling attempts.
In a separate operation in Kano, NDLEA officers arrested 45-year-old Michael Ogundele on Thursday, March 20, at Gadar Tamburawa along the Zaria-Kano road with a 50-litre steel gas cylinder.
Acting on intelligence, officers cut open the cylinder using welding tools and discovered 50,000 pills of tr@m@dol (225mg) concealed inside
