On this Fela and Wizkid issue, the person I blame for making it escalate this much is Seun Kuti ✅
I don't understand why he kept whining like a child and fighting with teenagers on social media, it doesn't make any sense at all 🤷🏻♀️
Everybody knows Fela is a legend, those that didn't know him while he was alive, have probably read his story and know a few of his songs as well ✅
But then again, this is 2026, if new artists don't carry these legends on their head, how will the legends remain relevant in this new age??
During the AFCON we say how a man from DR Congo was standing like a statue in honour of Patrice Lumumba, a great man whose story is actually very inspiring and sad at the same time, similar to Fela in a way, but he suffered a more terrible fate IMO 🥹
If Michael Duka didn't come to AFCON to stand like a statue, millions of people that got to know Lumumba won't even know of his existence and story and how he was framed and erased from the surface of the earth, till his oppressors apologised over 60 years later...
Imagine the daughter that fought tirelessly for the image of her late father accused Michael of being a clout chaser and going on and on about how Michael is just doing all those statue standing to gain visibility and chase clout and not necessarily to bring honour and remembrance to the late hero??
Would we have known of the injustice committed so many years ago, and his vindication after many decades??
Some people that the incident happened in their presence then, that they've been able to brainwash at the time that the man was who he was framed to be, are most likely dead and won't even know decades later, the people who made him vanish apologised and sent back his teeth??
So what exactly is Seun Kuti's problem??
Some of these new generation artists making reference to Fela is good, because they help his legacy stay relevant, when people no longer talk about you or reference you, you simply become irrelevant 🤷🏻♀️
So Seun should grow up and stop embarrassing his father's legacy... It's pathetic!
Fighting with a fan base till it escalated into name calling and insulting of each other's family is childish and uncalled for...
Congratulations to you on enjoying the works of your father, but still congratulations to Wizkid on enjoying his own work too, that he would still leave for his children to also chop...
So what exactly is the fuss about??
Does it mean, Seun too is just chasing clout by dragging Wizkid FC daily for so long??
Just tarnishing the legacy of your father for absolutely nothing, fighting with small small children on social media 🤷🏻♀️
